Superlative quality for superlative mountains!

The first mountaineers successfully climbed the Zermatt summit 150 years ago – a feat requiring tremendous physical strength and remarkable endurance. A nutritious provision that would also keep well and provide these pioneers with energy was even more important...

I created our mountain-guide bread – a sweet gourmet bread made with fresh apples, figs and nuts – from an old recipe handed down by my father, Pius. Using sultanas, cinnamon, cocoa and a highly-secret flour mixture, I continued to refine this recipe until the bread's flavour, consistency and keeping properties were all perfect.

The reward for this labour of love and our continual quest for the finest quality was the Gold Award at the 2010 Swiss Bakery Trophy where over 1,400 products from across Switzerland were pitted against one another.
