We introduce: The Findler Bread

24.08.2023

The Findler bread is a long-standing tradition and a true treasure from our region. Until the mid-20th century, rye was cultivated by the mountain farmers in the hamlet of Findeln, and that is exactly where our Findler bread originated. We cherish and maintain this ancient recipe, which to this day has lost none of its uniqueness.
As befits a traditional bread, we only use natural ingredients for our rye sourdough and do not use any artificial additives. Our experienced bakers mix water, rye, wheat, salt, and yeast to create the dough. Then they add the spices. Fennel, coriander, caraway, and anise contribute to the bread’s unique taste. The aromatic flavours come through in every bite.

Nice to Know:
In late summer 2023, Europe’s highest alpine garden will be created at the Rotenboden station on the Gornergrat. The flora found there is amongst the richest in the Swiss Alps. Have a taste of the new alpine garden when you purchase a Findler bread or a Génépi cake at the Fuchs Bakery: various herbs grown in the alpine garden lend their unique flavours to the baked goods.
