Bread newspaper 26

19.12.2024

We are delighted to present you with the latest issue of Brotzeitung No. 26! This issue is all about commitment and tradition. With exciting stories and inspiring projects, we would like to show you how we are working for a better future – in Zermatt and beyond.

Sangira project: Creating prospects in Rwanda

One focus of this issue is our involvement in the Sangira project in Rwanda. Together with the ‘Talents Bakery’, we are giving young people new career prospects through training programmes in the catering and hotel industry. Jackie Helfenberger, the initiator of the project, provides exciting insights into the development and impact of the Sangira organisation in an interview. We are particularly proud of how the bakery contributes to the financing of the hotel school through its profits – a great example of sustainable development.

Cooperation with Fuchs

In this issue, Philipp Fuchs talks about our collaboration with ‘Talents Bakery’. We support the trainees in Rwanda with donations in kind, machines and technical expertise to produce high-quality baked goods. One highlight is the Swiss carrot cake, which is reinterpreted in the ‘Talents Bakery’ – with creative alternatives to almonds and hazelnuts, which are difficult to obtain locally. This combination of Swiss tradition and Rwandan innovation shows what craftsmanship can achieve.
